  10.    A few years ago I sold my bicycle
  11. business and turned to shareware for
  12. my  livelihood.   At first, my wife,
  13. Lynne,  and   I   focused   on   the
  14. distribution  end  of  the business.
  15. Although  we  enjoyed  and  profited
  16. from    duplicating    and   mailing
  17. thousands of  disks,  we  felt  like
  18. going  a  step further. We wanted to
  19. write shareware.

  23.    Our first shareware  product  was
  24. BICYCLE    TUNE-UP   &   REPAIR,   a
  25. pictures & text disk  which  teaches
  26. bike repair. Since I couldn't find a
  27. program to build the presentation, I
  28. made  my  own  rough drawing program
  29. and  a  nice  run-time  presentation
  30. program for it.

  34.    Then came another tutorial called
  35. OXY-ACETYLENE WELDING, which teaches
  36. all  about gas welding from the very
  37. beginning  to  advanced  stuff  like
  38. welding aluminum.

  42.    Lynne  created  a  very important
  43. disk,  one  which  helps   everyone,
  44. called  NON-MEDICAL  PAIN RELIEF. In
  45. it she explains valuable  techniques
  46. including      Swedish      massage,
  47. ~

  49. acupressure,  and  natural  remedies
  50. for  minor  aches  and pains ranging
  51. from  headache  and   toothache   to
  52. arthritis.

  56.    Soon,  people  were  asking  what
  57. program we used to create these. So,
  58. of course I polished  it  up,  wrote
  59. extensive   instruction  files,  and
  60. wrote BLACKBOARD.  It was the  first
  61. to  use  ASCII-Vector-Graphics,  the
  62. technique with which we get so  much
  63. information  on  one  disk!  It also
  64. allowed  a  combination   of   text,
  65. graphics,  sound  effects  and music
  66. all in one presentation. However, it
  67. was limited  to  the  CGA-monochrome
  68. graphics mode.  The next version was
  69. "ANOTHER   PROGRAM"  which  was  for
  70. 16-color  VGA  presentations.   Soon
  71. after  that, ANOTHER PROGRAM version
  72. 2.0 was born,  which  works  in  all
  73. standard   graphics   modes  through
  74. 256-color VGA.

  78.    Now it is called  THE  MULTIMEDIA
  79. WORKSHOP,   which   is   the  newest
  80. version of ANOTHER PROGRAM.  It  has
  81. so  many  more  features, such as 10
  82. fonts, scalable both vertically  and
  83. horizontally, .PCX file import, text
  84. import,  and  much,  much more.  And
